A Witness Called Marcus by author William J. McDougall is a work of Christian fiction that follows a Roman Centurion who finds himself drawn into the passion story of Christ during a tour in Roman-occupied Israel. After witnessing His crucifixion ordered by Pontius Pilate, Marcus is swept up in the movement of Christianity that follows. An enjoyable and thought-provoking read! Through well-drawn characters and an honest take on the complex relationships in 1st-century Israel, the author has crafted a story that is hard to put down. He skillfully immerses you in the Roman and Jewish power centers of the day - worlds that are first challenged then threatened by the prophetic figures of John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth. How will career soldiers, Roman officials and ordinary people from across Judea respond to a Man being acclaimed as the Son of God? You'll enjoy this compelling journey through some of the most momentous days in history. -- Rev. Nick Uva
