Stepping into the bank to apply for a job as a confidential secretary, government girl-spy, Orison is on the road to discovery that could make her the Empress of the universe. Cinderella Story is a science fiction retelling of a favorite fairy tale. The title immediately connects to the collective memory to set our expectations of the story. We know we will meet a beautiful, unknown woman who is moved through a series of inconceivable events toward the most unlikely match with a "prince". We anticipate the help of a "fairy godmother" to overcome the conflicts with the "evil stepmother" and "stepsisters". Lang introduces to an unlikely cast of characters to fill these roles and tells an imaginative story that follows the happily-ever-after plot of a traditional Cinderella story.
