Inside Dante's Trunk a multifaceted journey of regeneration awaits. The contents of this old trunk hold the memories Lillie must bravely face to confront the passing of her beloved Callum. This is by no means a tale of woe. It is the story of a young photographer who follows her brother to Australia to start life anew. Like Lillie, Australia is also transforming as the old Colonial, gold-rush days slowly make way to a modern multicultural surge. As Melbourne's borders are beginning to burst with a sprawling suburbia the rural towns must embrace change to survive or become ghost towns. Lillie's journey is a pivotal part of this rebirth and together an entwined journey takes place as her stubborn aspirations are challenged and transposed. The deeper Lillie delves into the old magician's trunk the more we are exposed to the diverse characters that made the 1960's-70's a unique part of Australia's history.
