A fable is a story that teaches a lesson. Animals are the main characters of most fables. The traits of animals often mirror human traits such as: curiosity, jealousy, boasting, greed, laziness, hard-working, perseverance, honesty etc.Author Rhonda Mcdonald spins fables based on clasic Aesop tales. Her love for Alaska is evident in her writing. She has spent many hours in the state of Alaska on vacations with her family. Illustrator Holly Clary created beautiful scenes that visually express the meaning of the fables. Her illustrations give the reader a mental image that draws them into the the heart and meaning of the tale. This is a collection of stories that will delight children and adults both in a classroom setting and in a one on one reading at bedtime.
