As Jonathan and Mary Sower reach their golden years, their main concern is the well-being of their four children and their families by providing a secure foundation through their faith in God and the family's wheat farming business. Although the family encounters problematic turns and obstacles along their spiritual path, they find peace and assurance, knowing God has a divine plan for them in the new California frontier. Rivalries, prejudices, and evil intentions from a formidable wheat competitor complicate matters for Samuel but open a door of expansion opportunity. Sarah and her family settle into their farmhouse in Snelling. Naomi finds her soulmate but finds marriage not as easy as she had hoped. And David finishes Bible College and returns home as an aspiring preacher and a husband and father too. Will the family survive and carry out the family legacy when Jonathan's time comes to meet the Almighty face-to-face?
