From the moment Dove Gray discovered the existence of a being as wonderful as 'horse', she knew without doubt magic had something special in store for her.In the wake of heart-wrenching incidents, a perversely-humored, highly opinionated stallion is literally dropped on Dove Gray's doorstep. Suddenly the life lessons she'd learned by the time she was five years old--keep to yourself, do it yourself, and be quiet--no longer suffice to ground her. As for the magic she unwittingly partnered with via a discarded drawing pad and pencils, she feels its once supportive endeavors have hopelessly abandoned her.It will take Cloud-the stallion, an enigmatic, equally-scarred questioner disturbing her dreams, and a few extremely patient friends, to put Dove wholly together for the first time in her life as she 'hears' the stallion talking to her, and she begins to falter in the day to day running of Creekside Stables-- even as repairs seem to literally take care of themselves!Perhaps it's only the horse riding lessons she gives which keep her on her feet or the way her best friend, Sheer, an Arabian mare, needs her. Or perhaps it's the box of dropped-off kittens added to the mix which has her finally crying for help- instigating 'something'...Or is the magic instituting its own covert agenda?
