Collectors' Color Edition: Myron, the eight-year-old nephew of the governor of Patmos, befriends the exiled prisoner, Bishop John, and the linked short stories in this book, each taking just five minutes each to read aloud, tell of their adventures together. The stories draw on the Bible, history, and tradition, with illustrations taken from the world of art, and author's notes to intrigue both adult and middle-grade readers.Follow Myron as he ponders the difference between John's Jesus-lion-lamb-god-sacrifice and all the other gods of his Greek and Roman world. Is Rome's army really the greatest? Will Roman rule never fail? Will the city of John's god be destroyed? And where does the history of Israel fit into it all?John writes the book of Revelation, and Myron asks questions. Because questions are what make the answers breathe!
