What if humans had not just two genders, but three, or four? In the distant past, Earth colonizers on the alien planet Maalstrom found themselves 'colonized' when their DNA fused with a local species of hornet. Now a medieval world has emerged where Flores of the Turlicum wages bloody war against rivals in their hive-like city. The pace is unceasing, the sex torrid, the violence gruesome, and the religion, like the Maalstrom landscape, detailed and bizarre. An environmental tale of the interdependence of different species? Or the ultimate war between the sexes? This bloody heroic fantasy gradually untangles a bizarre interdependence of alien species, drawing a vengeful Flores of the Turlicum Clan across the landscape of a violent planet.
