Maddux

When sensing emotions becomes a weapon...After a Harvester raid claims an innocent child, Maddux Rivers abandons his coastal sanctuary, haunted by his failure. His ability to sense emotions-once his community's shield-has become a burden too heavy to bear. Venturing inland, Maddux discovers his powers evolving in unexpected ways. He can now detect other Influencers using their Push-a talent that makes him both invaluable ally and prime target. In the concrete ruins of Los Angeles, he encounters Ava Reed-fierce, lethal, wielding fear itself as she hunts the Harvesters who murdered her mother. Their alliance forged in combat transforms into something neither dared imagine possible in this broken world. But as the Magnus Order intensifies its hunt for unaligned Influencers, Maddux and Ava uncover whispers of resistance. For the first time, their abilities might serve a purpose beyond survival-if they're willing to risk everything they've found in each other. This prequel to the Influence series reveals the origins of one of the resistance's most vital members in the 6 months before the events of Book One.
