My Dearest Angus

Angelique Mureau, a vivacious French artist, eccentric, rich, and ravishingly beautiful, will endear you and sometimes appall you with her unique combination of charm and arrogance as revealed in the letters she writes to her beloved friend, Angus. Her lighthearted tone gradually transforms into one of terror and despair as she describes, in letter after letter, a progressively bizarre chain of events, beginning with the theft of her painting from a London art gallery and eventually leading to a sinister plot of paranormal activity that endangers lives and souls, including her very own. With the assistance of several talented companions, particularly her cherished brother, Maurice, she embarks upon a struggle to overcome the dark powers of sorcery. This epistolary novel, written in a classical style, will absorb you with its combination of suspense, lively and humorous dialogue, and array of colorful characters. Set primarily in post World War 1 Europe, history plays little role in this timeless tale of ghosts, witchcraft, human sacrifice, and even other dimensions, leading to a dramatic conclusion. It is more than Angelique ever accounted for when she painted Angus' picture, The Landscape of Love.
