One would think that lifelong friends, 'twice upon a time' lovers, and parents of three daughters, Kitt Mahoney and John Maxwell, would know the important things about one another. One would be wrong. In an unguarded moment, John Maxwell, the 'computer nerd' owner of a software design company reveals that he carries a concealed weapon. Fred Serpico, the detective who has fallen in love with Kitt, the mother of John's daughters, wants to know why he carries and why she has no idea that he does. As Fred pulls the threads of John's life, questions mount, and the answers to those questions reveal lifelong secrets that bring the Mahoney-Maxwell clan to the brink of destruction. Portions of Netti Barn were previously published in It All Began In Mayflower - Laurel Falls. Editor's comment: Wow!!! I freaking love this story. I just finished and have to say that you are not only a tremendous storyteller, but a damn good writer. Andria Flores
