'Our Funny Dunny' is the true story of a family living in the outer suburbs of Melbourne who are the sole owners of an outdoor dunny. It's white weatherboard walls harbour spiders and are witness to some hilarious and character building moments. This book is written through the eyes of a child and pulsates with rustic honesty.Smoke billowed from the dunny and flames licked at the seat. When the children realised they had set the dunny alight they scrambled into action. This adventure pales into insignificance when compared to the hilarious event that made the mischievous four famous amongst their classmates. The sleek ceramic toilets of their friends, take on a somewhat monotonous hue as you read the adventures woven around the outdoor dunny. This true story is a snapshot of Australiana and brings the bygone era of outdoor dunnies to life.
