Through the "Transform the Game" series, Hemphill reshapes biblical characters into young athletes. Each Playbook portrays a biblical story of heroism in a modern-day sports setting. In "Pass the Rock," King David is now a young basketball player up against the mighty Goliath. Through the retelling of this famous battle, Hemphill uses vibrant imagery and down-to-earth sports lingo to teach young athletes how to deal with adolescent concerns like peer pressure, self-esteem issues, and bullying. Richard is the founder of The Dugout, a ministry striving to reach the next generation with applicable biblical truths. Hemphill Jr., a Gardner-Webb University grad, and all-around sports nut marries his faith and love for sports to transform lives in the "Transform the Game" series.
