In this book Dr. Hills first states with great clearness the position of those who-along with men of earlier times, such as George Fox the sanctified Quaker, John Fletcher the saintly Church of England clergyman, John Wesley the great founder of Methodism, and many others-stand for the cleansing of the heart from all sin through the baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. Then he examines the Keswick position, ascertained by the careful perusal of numerous reports of addresses delivered at Keswick and seeks to point out with great fairness the flaws in this position. This comparison of Keswick teaching with scriptural holiness is made in the spirit of brotherly love. Its sole object is to clear away difficulties and errors and help souls into a better experience than the teaching of the "counteraction of sin" usually leads them to.
