As it happened, in the hamlet of Tarrytown, a cozy Dutch settlement on the banks of the Hudson River, things were in particular disarray: dark forces at work. For it was in the heart of Tarrytown, at Johnathan Doolittle's Union Tavern that our twisted tales begin...Tarrytown Tales weaves Washington Irving's most popular stories (The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van Winkle, and The Specter Bridegroom) into a unique theatrical experience. Told by ten adept narrators portraying dozens of characters, Tarrytown Tales is presented in the style of storybook theater, leveraging Irving's eloquent literary technique through a fun and accessible narrative, entertaining for all ages. This edition of the script is created for directors, stage managers, or designers who need additional space within the script to make notes or mark cues.
