Due to unrelenting deforestation by humans, a group of animals in the Sumatran rainforest are forced to leave their habitats. Hearing of a place where resources are plentiful, the group heads North, encountering dangers and devastation at every turn. Out of their harrowing journey to seek salvation amid the ever growing threat of doom, a drama evolves that tells a much more human tale - one of conquering fears, maintaining humanity through hardship, and choosing between vengeance or forgiveness when facing down one's oppressors. Never lost in the narrative, told in verse, is the very real and nearly complete destruction of these animals and the awe-inspiring habitats they once called home. This heroic tale acts not just as an epic adventure, but a call to action for readers who may not realize the peril that many of these species face.
