She was an addict, a skilled attorney, who hit the bottom of the social ladder when her habit grew out of control. Fired from her Chicago law firm she moved to California and into a secretarial position inside the California political spectrum. Through opportunity, cunning, and a psychopathic personality she worked her way to the top of a West Coast heroin empire. She would become the first American lady Kingfish. He was a French Canadian detective operating on both sides of the Canada/U.S. border. He vowed to avenge the death of his undercover wife at the hands of a heroin cartel in Quebec Canada. Their paths will never cross, but come close with an unexpected conclusion. Frenchy's American associate, a large gay New York cop, survives the climatic conclusion to tell the story.
