Encontros (Meetings) is the largest and most prestigious book collection of interviews with Brazilian artists and thinkers. With more than 50 published titles, Encontros provides a broad panorama of Brazil's cultural and intellectual wealth. From the avant-garde of Bahia in the 1960s, through Tropicália and the radical experimentalism of the records of the 1970s, such as the classic "Estudando o Samba", to the recovery of public attention in the last three decades, Tom Zé has followed an original path, marked by creativity, irreverence, and courage. More than a unique artist, Tom Zé is also a unique thinker of our culture, as can be seen in the statements and interviews reproduced in this volume of Coleção Encontros.
